On Saturday April 25th, a massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal.  It severely shook the lives of at least 5.3 million people and has left many people homeless.  Nepal's major cities, including the capital Kathmandu, have been badly damanged and rural areas near the epicentre have been completely cut off by avalanches.  Over 3,000 people have been confirmed dead and that figure is likely to rise significantly in the coming days.  Those still standing are sleeping in the streets because they are terrified by the regular aftershocks.

NCS is built on the idea that as young people, given the opportunities, tools and respect, you can change the world around you through social action.  The idea is simple.  Using your ideas and tenacity you can help those in need in Nepal.  Whether it's a small donation or some fund raising - your support will make a difference.  Find out more on how you can help on the Disasters Emergency Committee website.

Thank you.
