Last Minute Opportunity near Leeds
This April, NCS graduates aged 17 or under living in or near to Leeds are being invited to join the iRights Youth Jury. As a jury member you’ll join with fellow NCS graduates and other teenagers from your area at a special workshop to consider, debate and share ideas about the future of the internet.
iRights is an important national campaign that promotes the rights of children and young people in the digital world. It aims to give you the power to access the internet creatively, knowledgeably and fearlessly.
The interactive Youth Jury workshops take place at The University of Leeds during the area’s school and college Easter Holidays. You can attend one session, lasting for around 3 hours, on either:
- Monday 13 April – 10am to 1pm
- Monday 13 April – 2pm to 5pm
- Tuesday 14 April – 10am to 1pm
- Tuesday 14 April – 2pm to 5pm
Being on the iRights Youth Jury is a chance to have your voice heard by important decision makers. Your insight will contribute to a major national report published by iRights in collaboration with The University of Leeds and The University of Nottingham. This report will be circulated widely across government, industry and academic networks.
And if this is not enough of an incentive, iRights will also pay for your train travel to the University of Leeds and give you a £10 One4 All voucher you can spend at thousands of shops, restaurants and activity centres.
To apply for a place on the iRights Youth Jury, please contact Lauren Baxter at email@example.com or 020 7242 5504. Include your age, your home postcode and the date / time of your preferred session(s). You’ll then be sent a very short form to complete. The deadline for applications is 1pm on Friday 10 April.
